Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to release in Indian cinemas on July 30, a day ahead of its global theatrical debut on July 31 — a scheduling choice that reflects the growing commercial weight studios place on the Indian box office.
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, runs about 144 minutes, and is releasing in India across six languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, a multi-language rollout aimed at maximising reach across the country’s regional markets.
Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker and Spider-Man, joined by Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman and Michael Mando.
Set four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home, the story follows Peter Parker in a world where no one remembers him, balancing his duties protecting New York City with a mysterious physical transformation.
The official trailer, released on April 1, generated significant early engagement by showing Peter reconnecting with MJ and Ned while dealing with his encounter with Frank Castle.
India’s Central Board of Film Certification cleared the film with a UA 13+ rating after ordering the removal of a kissing scene and some strong language, along with a mandated on-screen alcohol warning — a routine part of the compliance process studios navigate before a wide Indian release.
The film is produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios alongside Pascal Pictures, continuing the joint Sony-Marvel commercial arrangement that has made the Spider-Man franchise one of the most consistently profitable properties in modern cinema.
