Swiggy has appointed Nandita Sinha, the former chief executive of Myntra, as the new CEO of its quick-commerce arm Instamart, effective August 3, 2026.

She replaces Amitesh Jha, who has resigned from Swiggy to pursue opportunities outside the company, marking a leadership reset at one of Swiggy’s most competitive business lines.

The hire is notable for founders and operators watching India’s consumer internet space: Sinha built her track record scaling Myntra through a sustained growth phase, including after the fashion platform reported EBITDA profitability in 2024.

Her appointment comes months after she exited Myntra in April 2026, when the Flipkart Group named Sharon Pais as the platform’s new chief executive.

For Instamart, the leadership change lands at a pivotal moment: the quick-commerce vertical is locked in an aggressive three-way race with Blinkit and Zepto, where speed of execution, dark-store density and customer retention economics increasingly decide market share.

Swiggy’s rationale, bringing in an operator experienced at scaling a large consumer internet business, signals that the company is betting on proven execution leadership rather than internal promotion to sharpen Instamart’s competitive position heading into its next growth phase.

Swiggy’s overall business spans food delivery, quick commerce through Instamart, and other services, with the company listed on Indian stock exchanges after its 2024 initial public offering.

Quick commerce has emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments of India’s retail sector in recent years, with platforms competing on delivery speed, product assortment and dark-store coverage across major cities.

Sinha’s exit from Myntra came in April 2026, when the Flipkart Group named Sharon Pais as the fashion platform’s new chief executive.

Instamart competes directly with Blinkit, owned by Eternal (formerly Zomato), and Zepto in India’s fast-growing quick-commerce sector, where companies have been racing to expand dark-store networks and cut delivery times.

Sinha’s more than two-decade career has spanned consumer goods and e-commerce, with earlier roles at Hindustan Unilever, Britannia Industries and Flipkart before she moved into leadership positions at Myntra.
