Sulay Lavsi founded Bummer in 2020 as a direct-to-consumer innerwear and loungewear brand. The Ahmedabad-based company focused on colourful designs and online sales in a category traditionally dominated by larger established labels.
Lavsi appeared on Shark Tank India Season 1 asking for ₹75 lakh for 4% equity. Aman Gupta and Namita Thapar agreed to invest ₹75 lakh for 7.5%. The final on-air agreement reduced the valuation from the founder’s opening proposal while bringing two consumer-brand investors into the company.
The company expanded after the programme and continued selling through its own website. Financial Express reported revenue of ₹7.77 crore in FY2023, compared with ₹2.37 crore in the preceding period. The same report recorded an FY2023 loss of ₹2.94 crore, demonstrating that rapid sales growth had not yet produced profitability at that point.
In March 2024, Bummer raised ₹9.25 crore in a funding round led by Gruhas, the investment firm co-founded by Nikhil Kamath and Abhijeet Pai. That transaction added institutional capital beyond the company’s televised investment and was intended to support expansion.
Inc42’s company profile reports FY2025 revenue of ₹10.7 crore. Public sources do not provide a complete current profit figure alongside that revenue, so the latest sales level should not be interpreted as evidence that earlier losses have been eliminated.
The defensible growth story is a rise from a young 2020 online label to a funded consumer brand with reported FY2025 revenue of ₹10.7 crore. As of August 25, 2026, Bummer’s online store remains active, and its disclosed capital history includes both the ₹75 lakh Shark Tank backing and the later ₹9.25 crore funding round.
