Dorje Teas appeared in the first episode of Shark Tank India Season 2 with a direct-to-consumer Darjeeling tea business. Founders Ishaan Kanoria and Sparsh Agarwal presented products connected to the Selim Hill tea estate and positioned the company around making Darjeeling tea accessible through packaged formats and subscriptions.
The founders asked for ₹30 lakh for 5% equity. The televised negotiation concluded at ₹30 lakh for 15% equity from Anupam Mittal, Vineeta Singh and Peyush Bansal. The deal met the requested capital amount while tripling the equity offered in the original ask.
At the time of the pitch, Dorje Teas was building online distribution for teas sourced from a heritage estate. Its model included seasonal teas, subscriptions and other packaged tea products. The company used the Shark Tank appearance to present both the consumer brand and the underlying challenge of sustaining tea-estate operations.
The most recent financial data located through Inc42 shows operating revenue of ₹2.4 crore in FY2025, compared with ₹2.3 crore in FY2024. That represents 3.5% year-on-year growth. The same source reports a net loss of approximately ₹9.5 lakh for FY2025.
Those figures show continued commercial activity but also a narrow growth rate and a loss for the year. Revenue measures sales generated during the reporting period; it should not be confused with valuation, cash balance or the amount raised from investors.
Dorje Teas continues to operate an online store offering Darjeeling teas, subscriptions and related products. Its current catalogue supports the conclusion that the brand remains active after the programme. The available public financial data does not provide a detailed channel-by-channel breakdown of subscription, marketplace and direct-store revenue.
The before-and-after comparison is measurable: the company entered the programme seeking ₹30 lakh while operating an early-stage tea brand, later recorded ₹1.3 crore revenue in FY2023 according to Inc42 reporting, and reached ₹2.4 crore in FY2025. Growth between FY2024 and FY2025 was positive but modest.
As of August 25, 2026, Dorje Teas remains an operating packaged-tea company. Its FY2025 revenue increased 3.5% to ₹2.4 crore, while its reported ₹9.5 lakh net loss shows that revenue growth had not yet translated into full-year profitability.
