Pankaj Tripathi has been named for the ‘Artist of Distinction’ honour at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2026, recognising his work in Indian cinema.
The National Award-winning actor will attend the Melbourne festival in person for the first time to receive the recognition.
IFFM 2026 is scheduled for August 13 to 23.
Rani Mukerji will also be honoured at the festival with an Honorary Doctorate, alongside Tripathi as the event’s headliners.
Tripathi’s filmography includes Sultan Qureshi in Gangs of Wasseypur, Kaleen Bhaiya in Mirzapur, a National Award-winning role in Mimi, and appearances in Newton, Stree, Masaan, OMG 2 and Main Atal Hoon.
