The trailer launch for Ramayana has been postponed after Prime Focus Studios announced Sony Pictures as the film’s global distributor for territories outside India.
The deal is being described as one of the biggest international distribution agreements for an Indian film. Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, and is directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
The film’s music has been composed by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. Prime Focus Studios founder Namit Malhotra called the Sony Pictures tie-up a historic moment.
Ramayana is expected to release in multiple languages internationally, including a premium English-language version.
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions will continue to handle the film’s release within India.
