Spider-Man: Brand New Day has generated Rs 109.95 crore net at the Indian box office within two days of release, according to trade tracker Sacnilk, underlining how quickly a well-marketed Hollywood tentpole can recover its India distribution costs. The film, starring Tom Holland and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is distributed in India by Sony Pictures and opened on Thursday, July 30, 2026, ahead of its global release on July 31.

Day one collections were Rs 60.60 crore net on a gross of Rs 71.51 crore, an opening that trade analysts flagged as one of the strongest for a Hollywood release in India this year, reflecting the commercial value of a multi-language rollout strategy for major franchise films.

Day two receipts eased to Rs 49.35 crore net, an 18.6% dip from the opener, with the film running across 16,902 shows and holding 64.8% occupancy nationally, a pattern typical of front-loaded openings before weekend demand kicks in.

The two-day net total of Rs 109.95 crore already clears the Rs 100 crore mark, a threshold distributors use as an early benchmark for whether a release will turn a healthy profit in the Indian market.

The film’s simultaneous release in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions illustrates the scale of investment studios now make in localisation to capture India’s regional-language audiences alongside its English-speaking urban base.

For studios and distributors tracking India as a growth market, the weekend hold will be the next data point worth watching, since it typically determines whether an opening surge converts into sustained multi-week revenue.

Multiplex chains reported houseful shows for evening and night slots in metro cities including Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru through the first two days of release.

The film rounds out Tom Holland’s trilogy of solo Spider-Man features made in collaboration between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.
