NBEMS has scheduled a NEET PG 2026 re-exam for September 5, covering 2,445 candidates whose original test was disrupted at two Jaipur centres on August 30, after computers at the venue shut down repeatedly, up to 10 times within two hours.

What’s notable here isn’t just the technical failure, vendor outages happen, it’s that NBEMS publicly attributed the disruption to TCS Ltd., the agency responsible for conducting the computer-based test, rather than issuing a vague statement about “technical issues” and leaving the cause unclear.

That’s a meaningful choice. When a vendor’s infrastructure fails during a service you’re accountable for, the easy path is to absorb the blame silently to avoid airing a partner relationship in public. NBEMS instead named the responsible party while still apologising directly to the affected candidates, taking ownership of the fix without hiding who caused the failure.

For any organisation that depends on a third-party vendor for a customer-facing service, whether it’s a payment processor, a cloud host, or an exam-delivery platform, the two obligations run in parallel: fix the immediate problem for the people affected, and be honest about where the failure originated, since papering over it erodes trust faster than naming it does.

The re-exam itself, scheduled quickly and covering only the specifically affected test centres rather than the entire candidate pool, also reflects a targeted response rather than an overcorrection, another detail worth noting in how incident response can stay proportionate to the actual scope of the failure.

NEET PG results for candidates who were not affected by the Jaipur disruption remain on schedule, with NBEMS having indicated the overall result is expected around September 30.

The scale of the disruption, affecting thousands of candidates at a single location, has renewed scrutiny of the reliability of third-party vendors used for large-scale computer-based examinations in India.
