Srinagar Airport’s restricted flight hours of 8 am to 5 pm will run till July 31, because of an Indian Air Force runway upgrade that began on April 6.
The restriction is a temporary shift from the airport’s usual operating window of 8 am to 10 pm.
Around 60 flights, including both arrivals and departures, normally operate at the airport each day within the standard hours.
The shortened window is intended to support the runway upgrade, aimed at improving operational efficiency and safety.
Authorities have indicated that flight frequency will rise in line with the summer schedule approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation once the works finish.
