JhaJi Store began in 2020 as a direct-to-consumer food business selling pickles associated with Mithila recipes. The company identifies Kalpana Jha and Uma Jha as its founding operators, with Aishwarya Chaturvedi also associated with building the business.
The founders presented the brand, then widely identified as JhaJi Achaar, on Shark Tank India Season 1. They asked for ₹50 lakh for 10% equity but did not receive an investment. The no-deal result left the company to continue building sales outside the programme’s financing process.
JhaJi later returned to the Shark Tank India platform and secured an investment in Season 2. The published pitch record lists ₹85 lakh for 8.45% equity from Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh and Jharkhand Angels. This later transaction followed the company’s initial rejection and marked a substantial change in its financing position.
Inc42’s company profile reports FY2025 revenue of ₹9.7 crore, up 32.6% from ₹7.4 crore in the previous financial year. The same profile reports total funding of approximately $1.57 million. These figures place JhaJi well beyond the small consumer brand that first entered the tank.
The company’s website remains active and sells multiple pickle varieties and related food products. Public information does not provide a full audited margin history, so revenue growth should not be treated as proof of profitability. It does establish a larger operating scale and continued consumer sales.
JhaJi’s journey is therefore unusually clear: a no-deal Season 1 pitch was followed by further trading, a later investment and reported FY2025 revenue of ₹9.7 crore. As of August 25, 2026, the brand continues to operate online, and its most recent publicly reported annual revenue represents 32.6% growth over the preceding year.
