Realme has confirmed that the P4s 5G will launch in India on August 26, 2026, at 12 PM IST, with pricing still unofficial but widely expected to land under Rs 40,000.
The spec sheet is fairly typical for the segment, a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset, a 144Hz Samsung OLED display, an 8,000mAh battery with 80W charging, until you get to the durability claims: IP69, IP68 and IP66 ratings stacked on a single device.
That combination is unusual specifically because it’s rare at this price point. IP69 in particular, rated for high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, is typically reserved for flagship-tier devices, not a sub-Rs 40,000 mid-ranger.
For a founder building a product in a crowded, spec-saturated category, this is a useful positioning lesson: rather than trying to lead on every dimension, Realme appears to be picking one under-served attribute, durability, and over-delivering on it specifically to create a talking point competitors in the same price band don’t have.
The rest of the spec sheet, the camera setup, RAM and storage configuration, chipset, is competitive but not exceptional, which reinforces that the durability claim is likely doing most of the marketing work ahead of the actual launch.
Whether that bet pays off depends on execution at the announced price, but the strategic logic, pick one dimension to dominate rather than spreading resources evenly across a spec sheet, is a pattern worth studying regardless of category.
The P4s 5G is expected to be available through Flipkart, following Realme’s typical distribution pattern for its P-series devices in the Indian market.
The launch adds to a busy August 2026 for Indian smartphone releases, with several brands including Redmi, Vivo and Google having already launched competing devices earlier in the month.
The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset paired with a dedicated HyperVision+ AI chip.
